The MGA Restoration Project

Page Twelve:    Back to Work

Winter comes and the summer rush at Brooklands is over, so restoration work can resume. Owner Matt Graham applies chemical paint stripper to the car.

As the paint stripper takes effect, first the top coat of pseudo-Old English Beige bubbles up, followed by the underlying coat of burgundy. The bottom-most layer, the original factory-applied Glacier Blue proves a little more resilient.

Spraying and scraping, Matt slowly removes the layers of paint.

MG's current roadster, the MGTF, is shown in this factory publicity photo with the top uncharacteristically up.
